Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares has received approaches from Bundesliga clubs Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg in recent days.
That’s according to football.london who shared the news following Tavares being involved in none of pre-season.

The report did also share that Tavares would actually prefer a stay in England to play in the Premier League.

West Ham United have reportedly shown interest in Tavares in the past but they have yet to make any formal approach.
It may come as a surprise to Arsenal fans that Tavares has his heart set on staying in the Premier League.

Whilst he enjoyed some success in Arsenal’s league games he seemed to enjoy better periods during his loan at Marseille.
It seems fairly clear that Tavares will leave Arsenal this summer given he is included on a list of players Mikel Arteta wants to sell.
And whilst the Bundesliga appears an appealing option for Tavares after Arsenal, he seems to have other ideas.
At 23-years-old Tavares still has his best years ahead and Arsenal will probably want a decent fee for their man.

Perhaps most important for Tavares will be to target a club playing with the right system.
The Portuguese defender has looked much better as a wing-back rather than a traditional full-back in his career thus far.

Tavares’ best qualities are what he offers teams offensively, so finding the right fit does seem crucial.
Tavares clearly has a ton of talent but he wasn’t always able to show it when playing in Arsenal’s back four.
Interestingly West Ham do often deploy a system using wing-backs under David Moyes.
Whether the two interested Bundesliga sides would look to deploy Arsenal’s Tavares in such a role could well be a factor in any decision.
It does seem it’s time to leave Arsenal for Tavares, but choosing his next permanent stay will be crucial.
There’s excellent potential there, and we could still see it in England.
