Arsenal ace Gabriel Martinelli sends 13-word warning to Liverpool after proving fans wrong

Arsenal will face another tough test shortly after the international break. 

Arsenal have already taken on Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur this season, and remain unbeaten in the Premier League. 

Mikel Arteta’s side will take on another ‘big six’ outfit before the end of this month, as they will welcome Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium.

Like the Gunners, Liverpool have started the new season in fine form. At the time of writing, the Reds sit at the top of the Premier League table after seven rounds of fixtures. However, unlike both Arsenal and Manchester City, the Merseyside club have tasted defeat already.

In any case, this represents another major test for the North Londoners to over come. Victory would underline Arsenal’s status as Premier League title favourites. Defeat, though, especially on their own patch, would represent a major confidence blow and would bolster Liverpool’s own belief in their title credentials.

Gabriel Martinelli previews Arsenal vs Liverpool

This is a challenge that Gabriel Martinelli is relishing, though. 

Looking ahead to this fixture in conversation with Football.London, following the Gunners’ recent win over Southampton, the Brazilian winger promised: “We can’t wait to play these games and we’ll be ready for them.”

Arsenal certainly have good reason to be confident heading into this fixture. They are in excellent form, boast an impressive record against fellow ‘big six’ sides, can lay claim to home advantage, and can rely upon their immaculate defensive record.

Gabriel Martinelli ready to shine for Arsenal

On a personal level, Martinelli is correct to be confident heading into this clash. The 23-year-old has scored in each of the last two Premier League games, ending a long goal drought. 

Arsenal fans took aim at Martinelli earlier this season, but Arteta kept faith in him and the Brazil international has now proven his doubters wrong. 

Martinelli has rediscovered his form it would seem, and will now be keen to make an impact for Arsenal in such a huge match. What’s more, he has enjoyed success against Liverpool in the past, having netted five times against them in his ten previous career showdowns with the Anfield outfit, across all competitions, including three Premier League strikes.
