It’s not always easy to make Arsenal fans happy, but Andrea Berta has done it plenty of times since he joined the club.

The Italian replaced Edu Gaspar as the club’s new sporting director in March, and he hasn’t put a foot wrong since.

Berta completed eight new signings in the summer and has also extended the contracts of Gabriel Magalhaes, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and William Saliba.

Now, the Arsenal sporting director is on the verge of extending another player’s deal – Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal are about to announce Bukayo Saka’s contract extension

Saka is one of Arsenal’s most important players.

The England international has been at the club since he was a kid. He came through the ranks at the academy, broke into the first team and carried Arsenal on his back through their difficult years.

Saka has now entered the final two years of his contract at the Emirates, and talks have been ongoing to extend his deal.

Andrea Berta has been working hard behind the scenes, and if TeamTalk are to be believed, an agreement is about to be reached.

The report claims that Arsenal are gearing up to give their fans a Christmas gift by announcing that Saka has extended his contract at the club.

It has been revealed that talks between Berta and the Saka camp went smoothly in December, and there’s not much left to be agreed.

With his new deal, the Arsenal number seven is set to earn £300,000-a-week, which will make him Arsenal’s highest-paid player ahead of Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.

An initial agreement is said to be in place over a deal that will not expire until 2031. Saka will be almost 30 by then.

Is this Andrea Berta’s best Arsenal deal yet? If not, which is?

Andrea Berta is in talks to extend three other contracts at Arsenal

If Arsenal get the Saka deal over the line as they are expected to do, it would give them a massive boost in their title charge.

The Englishman’s contract, however, is not the only file on Berta’s desk; there are three others as well.

The report claims that talks are advancing between Arsenal and Jurrien Timber over a new contract, and that deal is expected to get over the line without any trouble.

Furthermore, Berta has made contact with the representatives of Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard over new deals for them in the coming months.

Arsenal fans have seen their club mismanage player contracts on several occasions in the past. Berta has changed that now, which is fantastic to see.
