Arsenal are now taking one thing more ‘seriously’ to prevent repeating struggles

Arsenal are set to face Burnley at Turf Moor tomorrow to continue their fine form which has seen them win their last four games.

Burnley are struggling near the bottom of the Premier League table, with just three victories all season, and Arsenal are heavy favourites for the clash.

However, Turf Moor has not been an easy place to go in the past, with Mikel Arteta winning just one of his three fixtures there, and even Arsene Wenger’s sides were far from comfortable in some dramatic victories up North.

Tough away grounds have often proven to be difficult for Arsenal over the years, with the likes of Stoke City, Everton and Crystal Palace the locations where the Gunners fall to poor defeats on the road, but this may no longer be the case.

Arsenal are more focused in away games

Arteta’s side now have the best defence in the Premier League, and have navigated their way through some tough battles on the road this season.

Journalist Kaya Kaynak has now highlighted on the Arsenal Beat Podcast that Arsenal seem better-prepared and less complacent when it comes to away games against teams they are expected to beat, and this has meant they now avoid the type of defeat that Arsenal teams of old would fall to.

“Basically, I think Arsenal have to win this game. It’s the kind of game where historically Arsenal have maybe gone to these kind of grounds and struggled, but in this new era, it’s the kind of game that they’ve actually done quite well at winning,” he explained.

“They take these away games seriously, they don’t tend to slip up in the way that maybe previous incarnations of Arsenal used to in the past.

“There’s not that sense of arrogance. Having said that, Burnley are such a poor offering in the Premier League this season.”

Arsenal are in excellent form and will be expecting a comfortable victory. However, they simply cannot afford to drop points at Burnley in the title race.

Every point matters, and this is a game where Arsenal simply have to grab all three points no matter what. Burnley did cause Liverpool some problems at Anfield last week, and any complacency could end up being punished.

Arsenal demolished West Ham 6-0 last week, and will want to secure another clean sheet on the road whilst getting their attackers on the scoresheet ahead of a tricky week, which will see the Gunners travel to Porto for a Champions League knockout tie, and will face Newcastle at the Emirates.
