Arsenal beat Lyon in the Emirates Cup
Arsenal signed off from their pre-season with a final-game win over French outfit Olympique Lyon in the Emirates Cup on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners have been preparing for the new Premier League season with clashes against Bournemouth, Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen.
Two victories, one draw and one defeat from those four games set Mikel Arteta up for one last game in front of the Emirates Stadium crowd before the real action gets underway.
Arsenal played host to Lyon, with plenty of their first-team squad getting valuable minutes to build their fitness.

Goals from defenders William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes secured a win for the Gunners, ensuring the Emirates Cup was back in their hands.
Arsenal will now prepare for their opening clash of the Premier League season against Wolves at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Arsenal injury latest
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has given an update on the fitness of duo Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu after the victory against Lyon.
The defensive pair were both absent from the squad that played in the Emirates Cup on Sunday due to injury troubles.
Timber, who missed most of last season with a knee injury, was missing from the clash due to a slight foot issue.
Arteta described the Dutchma’s problem as “fine”, with an expectation that the versatile star will be back in training in the coming days.

As for Tomiyasu, the concerns run slightly deeper as Arteta claimed that he would be back “weeks from now”.
The Japanese international is no stranger to injury troubles, having been unfortunate enough to be sidelined with different muscle problems over the past year.
It means the Gunners face some key fitness decisions ahead of their Premier League opener in the week ahead.

Mikel Arteta gives update on Eddie Nketiah transfer
Eddie Nketiah faces an uncertain future at Arsenal, amid talks over a potential transfer to Olympique Marseille this summer.
The striker was handed just nine starts in the Premier League last season, with others in the squad handed a chance at centre-forward.
As links continue over a new striker signing, Nketiah could soon make an exit from London Colney for pastures new.

Despite that, Arteta wasn’t drawn into much speculation surrounding his forward, suggesting players in his squad are set for a stay.
He told the press after the clash with Lyon: “All the players that are here there’s the biggest chance that they stay with us, that’s why they’re here.”
It could suggest that, despite rumours over his future, Nketiah may well stay at Arsenal for the season ahead.
