Noni Madueke is already impressing Arsenal coaches after taking part in his first training session at Colney.

The Arsenal squad have returned to North London ahead of the start of the Premier League season.

After a successful pre-season tour of Asia, Mikel Arteta has his players together at Colney with two friendlies remaining before the competitive action kicks off.

The missing piece to Arteta’s puzzle in Asia has now joined the squad, as after an extended holiday, Madueke has joined up with his teammates.

The winger will be raring to go in red and white after making the £52m move from Chelsea to Arsenal

Due to his participation at the Club World Cup, Arteta denied Madueke’s request to start work at Arsenal early, instead sending his new signing on his holidays.

Now, the wait is finally over for Madueke, who is gunning to secure a starting spot at Arsenal on the left side.

Things have got off to a good start for the 23-year-old, as Arsenal’s media team posted footage from the England international’s first training session at Colney.

Madueke was seen taking part in a drill that involved him running in from the right to connect with the ball and take a shot on goal.

Arsenal’s coaches made their thoughts on the Englishman’s quality in training known, applauding a finish that was taken first time and finished in the top left corner of the goal.

It was a clinical finish from the winger, which was something seen throughout the footage of Madueke taking part in that specific drill.

On one occasion, the ex-PSV star produced a stellar first touch, rolled the ball under his foot to leave the goalkeeper scrambling on the floor before finishing to score.

In that drill, Madueke was running in from the right side to take on the shot, but the winger also appeared to be angled on the left in other parts of training.

One clip showed the winger playing the ball in from the left, and, in a small match setting, Madueke appeared to be stationed closer to the left side.

The 23-year-old’s versatility is huge for Arteta, being capable of providing cover for Bukayo Saka and competition for Gabriel Martinelli.

Fans will hope to see a glimpse of Madueke at the Emirates over the final two friendlies, with Arsenal returning to the Emirates to face Villarreal and then Athletic Bilbao.
