Arsenal have been hit by multiple injuries this season.
The Gunners have dealt with their issues very well. They are on top of the Premier League and Champions League tables, which is a remarkable achievement.
Yet, the fact that 17 of the 25 players in their first-team squad have missed at least one game due to fitness troubles cannot be ignored.
The Arsenal coaching staff and medical team think they know the reason behind such issues now.

Arsenal think their players are getting injured because they have no time to train
Fixture congestion has been a big topic over the last few years.
Almost every manager has requested more recovery time for their players, but the decision makers just don’t seem to care.
Players at top clubs in the Premier League are being forced to play three times a week on many occasions, and they have their international commitments as well to make things harder.
That has increased the number of injuries across every club, and only Leeds United have suffered more issues than Arsenal since this season began.
The Telegraph now reveal one of the reasons behind the injuries.

It has been claimed that the Arsenal coaching staff believe that players are not able to train enough, and that has led to the number of muscular injuries shooting up.
The doctors have revealed that tendons require at least 72 hours to fully recover, but players are being forced to play again within that period, often without training.
The outlet writes: “The feeling within the coaching staff is not that Arsenal train too hard or too often, but that they cannot train enough. Tendons need 72 hours to recover from competitive matches, and Arsenal play matches in most midweeks.
“Over the course of the campaign, there are therefore very few opportunities for Arsenal’s players to actually strengthen their muscles and tendons through training. They play, they recover for a few days, and then they play again.”

Mikel Arteta perfectly explained the cause behind injuries months ago, but nobody listened
The governing bodies need to take fixture congestion very seriously.
If all the top players keep getting injured, the quality of the game will decline, which does not benefit anybody. Players need to be given more time – not just to recover but to train as well so that they can strengthen their muscles.
Mikel Arteta explained this perfectly back in February 2025, but his comments fell on deaf ears.
He said at the time, as per RTE: “We’re very limited, and we’re training less than ever. There’s no time for training.
“The biggest problem is that you don’t train the muscle, the muscle is undertrained, and then you expose the muscle and the tendon to an exposure that it can’t absorb because the tendon has 72 hours to recover.”
