Arsenal are on the verge of completing the signing of Club Brugge star Christos Tzolis.

The Belgian Pro League’s Player of the Year is set to be the Gunners’ first outfield signing of the summer, and an announcement could happen any minute now.

When Arsenal signed Sanchez from Barcelona, he was given the number 17 shirt because his preferred number seven belonged to Tomas Rosicky.

The Chilean went on to become one of the best players of the Emirates Stadium era, even though the way he left the club was not great.

Now, after seeing Christos Tzolis pick the number 17, Arsenal fans are all comparing him to Sanchez.

Christos Tzolis could be Arsenal’s new Alexis Sanchez

Sanchez was a force at Arsenal during his time at the club.

The Chile international was one of the best players in the Premier League for a few years, and he produced some massive moments for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Tzolis is not on Sanchez’s level, but he has potential. Like the former Gunner, he plays on the left wing, is highly effective when he cuts inside and has a devastating shot on him.

It will take time to adjust to the demands of the Premier League, but Tzolis has what it takes to become Arsenal’s new Sanchez in a year or two.

If he can even be half as good as him, Tzolis will prove to be an incredible signing.
