Martin Zubimendi is one of Arsenal’s top targets in the summer transfer window.

The Real Sociedad midfielder has been a wanted man for a couple of years now. Several top clubs in England and abroad have been interested in signing him.

Arsenal have been rejected by Zubimendi in the past as well, but several reports have revealed that things will be different at the end of this season.

It has been claimed that Arsenal are set to sign Zubimendi in the summer, and the Spaniard is said to have accepted a move to the Emirates too.

To get a closer look at how good he really is, many Arsenal fans tuned in to watch Real Sociedad’s Europa League clash against Manchester United on Thursday night.

Gooners have now had their say about him on social media.

Arsenal fans deliver verdict on Martin Zubimendi after watching him vs Manchester United

Zubimendi missed Real Sociedad’s first leg against Manchester United in Spain, but the midfielder was back for the clash at Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old started in the middle of the park with Pablo Marin and Brais Mendez, and much to Arsenal fans’ frustration, he did not impress.

Several Gooners took to social media to express their concerns over Arsenal potentially signing Zubimendi this summer.

One Arsenal fan tweeted: “Berta needs to make sure we do not sign Zubimendi.”

Another said: “Zubimendi is not the answer to our problems.”

“Swear the only time I’ve seen Zubimendi play well was for Spain against England in the Euros, he’s always average every time I watch him for Sociedad. What’s so special about him that every top club in Europe want him,” wrote another.

Another gooner said: “Zubimendi is not better than Partey. I hope Arteta can see this. We can’t make a gamble signing in midfield.”

“I’ve watched Zubimendi several times and he has absolutely nothing over Partey,” tweeted another.

Andrea Berta is eyeing a move for another midfielder

Andrea Berta is about to become Arsenal’s sporting director, and the Italian has a lot of work to do.

All eyes will be on a new striker, but with Partey and Jorginho likely to leave, the 53-year-old will have to strengthen his midfield too.

Zubimendi has been heavily linked, but AS in Spain reported this week that Berta wants to sign Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes to bolster Arsenal’s midfield.

The Brazilian is a fantastic player and he has proven his worth in the Premier League. He would be a brilliant signing for the Gunners if Berta can bring him in.
