Arsenal fans have now had their say on the latest performance Ethan Nwaneri produced for the England under-17s side.

Arsenal wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri was on the scoresheet again for England under-17s on Monday, as Greg Lincoln’s youngsters beat Spain 3-1 to secure passage to the quarter-finals of the Under-17 EUROs competition currently being played in Cyprus.

Nwaneri finished off a quick counter-attack in the 85th minute to seal the win. It was the 17-year-old’s second strike of the tournament, after he caught the eye with a long-range effort against France in the first outing of the competition.

What next for Ethan Nwaneri at Arsenal after international success?

Mikel Arteta will certainly be keeping tabs on the Hale End academy gem whilst he is on duty with the Young Lions.

The manager may well be considering making the youngster a bigger part of his first team plans at the Emirates Stadium next season. Nwaneri is thought to be on the verge of taking the next step forward in his Arsenal career, having already made two Premier League appearances for the senior team.

The midfielder is certainly an enormous talent. Nwaneri has been compared to Jack Wilshere in the past and is highly thought of in the Arsenal setup. The departure of Mohamed Elneny has also created space for a back-up midfield option in the first team dressing room. The youngster will be desperate to add to his collection of senior appearances next season.

In the meantime, though, Nwaneri will be fully focused on helping England’s under-17s go as far as they can in the EUROs. They are set to contest their quarter-final tie against Italy on Thursday.

Arsenal fans have certainly been excited by what they’ve seen from Nwaneri at this tournament.
