Arsenal wonderkid Chido Obi-Martin has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer.
The Gunners have done a phenomenal job with their academy in recent years. Per Mertesacker has built a terrific youth setup, and a number of hugely talented young players have been coming through the ranks.
Obi-Martin, who has had a record-breaking 2023/24 season at Arsenal where he scored 32 goals for the U18s, is one of the club’s most exciting young talents.
However, Obi-Martin has been linked with a move away from Arsenal having attracted interest from some of the biggest clubs in the world.
Reports have even claimed that Obi-Martin is set to ‘walk out’ of Arsenal and is in advanced talks with Bayern Munich.
On Friday, Academy Scoop made a shocking revelation that Obi-Martin visited Manchester United’s training ground in Carrington ahead of a potential move.
That tweet was deleted and in a following post on X, the account claimed that they were asked to remove the information and that they expect clarity in the coming days.

Arsenal have been trying to convince Obi-Martin to stay at the club, but the youngster is yet to make a decision on his future.
That has annoyed many Gooners, who, while reacting to the now-deleted claim that he could be off to Manchester United, have urged him to walk away if he doesn’t want to stay.
One Arsenal fan tweeted: “He should go if he wants to. He has to do what he feels is better for his career. But going to Manchester United is laughable!”
“If he wants to go, then fine. No point in keeping someone who wants to move out,” said another.
Another Gooner wrote: “We gave him the best scholarship though. If he wants to go, let him go!”
“Let him leave! No one should be begged to play for the Arsenal,” said another fan.
Another Arsenal fan tweeted: “Let him leave, please. Arsenal is bigger. Let’s keep players who love the Arsenal!”
Obi-Martin to Manchester United makes no sense at all
Arsenal have to wait until Obi-Martin turns 17 to offer him a professional contract – that doesn’t happen until November this year.
Clubs overseas can sign him on a pro deal right away, so a move to a club like Bayern Munich makes sense if they present a great project to him.
However, if Obi-Martin decides to join Manchester United, he would be making a massive mistake.
The Red Devils already have two young strikers in Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee in the first team. There’s just no pathway for Obi-Martin to get into the senior side.
At Arsenal, on the other hand, Obi-Martin can clearly see that he can get into the senior side in the coming years as there’s nobody really ahead of him in the academy. Mikel Arteta has no prolific striker at his disposal in the first team either.
That’s why Obi-Martin should stay at Arsenal instead of joining a club like Manchester United this summer.
