Riccardo Calafiori is the latest Arsenal player to have picked up an injury concern.
Arsenal have already had to contend with a raft of injuries so far this season.
Mikel Arteta has had to cope without the likes of Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Ben White, amongst others, for key matches this season.
Arsenal’s injury crisis has caused Arteta sleepless nights at times, and the Spanish coach now has another worry in this regard, as Riccardo Calafiori is believed to have picked up a problem.
Very late on against Leicester City last time out, Calafiori went to ground with what looked to be a knee issue.
The Italian defender is no stranger to such injuries. As reported by Goal, a serious knee injury back in 2018 nearly ended his career whilst he was still just a teenager on the books at Roma.

Many Arsenal fans on X have reacted to reports of Calafiori’s potential injury, with a theory that it may not be as serious as initially feared posited by some.
One said: “Did not get taken off and seemed alright from videos after the fourth goal hopefully just cramp cause he covers massive amounts of ground.”
Another stated: “The way he stretches out his leg it can easily be cramp. He did the same at City when he came off with cramp.”
Another claimed: “He would’ve gone straight to the ground if it was an ACL injury, it hurts too much. Hopefully nothing serious.”
One added: “Looks like he’s stretching out his leg to me. Cramp I think.”
Arsenal can’t afford to lose Calafiori now
With Zinchenko already sidelined, and Jurrien Timber covering for White at right-back, Arteta is reliant upon Calafiori to feature at left-back.
What’s more, Calafiori has been in sensational form lately, from scoring a stunning goal against Manchester City to helping to bring the best out of Gabriel Martinelli against Leicester.
Arteta will be desperately hoping that the Arsenal fans’ theory that the 22-year-old went down with nothing more serious than cramp on Saturday is true.
