The January transfer window is almost here, and Arsenal fans are getting excited.
The Gunners weren’t expected to be active in the upcoming window after spending a fortune on eight new players in the summer.
However, injuries have caused all sorts of problems to Mikel Arteta’s side, and some defensive cover in January could help them in their pursuit of the big trophies.
If you were Andrea Berta and could sign any player in the world right now, who would it be and why?
Reports recently revealed that Arsenal have added Marc Guehi to their shortlist ahead of the winter window.
Now, Gunners fans are convinced that the England international defender will be moving to the Emirates Stadium very soon after spotting a few things.
Arsenal fans think Marc Guehi will become a Gunner soon
Marc Guehi will enter the final six months of his Crystal Palace contract in January, and he has been linked with a move to several clubs, including Arsenal.
During the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Tuesday night, Guehi scored but didn’t celebrate. Then, after he didn’t step up to take a penalty in the shootout, he was spotted having a friendly conversation with his England teammates Noni Madueke, Bukayo Saka and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
At that time, Arteta walked up to the defender to shake his hand. The ‘brilliant’ centre-back obliged, but strangely, he didn’t make direct eye contact with the Arsenal manager. He only looked at him from the corner of his eye.
That has convinced fans that he is on his way to the Emirates.

One tweeted: “I see Guehi joining us next window.”
Another wrote: “Guehi is so joining Arsenal by the way.”
“I have a mad theory. This Guehi guy is coming to Arsenal,” said another.
Another Gooner wrote: “We all know what’s coming. Calafiori moves into midfield, rotating with Zubimendi/Rice, and Guehi arrives as LCB to rotate with Big Gabi. Real Arsenal fans see the plan.”
“Guehi is definitely joining Arsenal in January,” wrote another.
What is the maximum fee you would pay for Marc Guehi in January considering Arsenal can sign him for free in the summer?
Should Arsenal sign Marc Guehi in January?
Arsenal could really use some cover in defence.
The Gunners had just one defender on the bench in their Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Crystal Palace, and that was 16-year-old Marli Salmon.
Gabriel Magalhaes, Ben White, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie are all currently out injured, which is not sustainable at all.
Guehi would be an unbelievable option for Arsenal in January, and the fact that he will likely be available for a bargain fee because of his contract situation makes it a no-brainer.
However, only time will tell if Guehi will be willing to join a club where he will almost definitely be behind William Saliba and Gabriel in the pecking order.
