Arsenal made the difficult decision to part ways with Emile Smith Rowe this summer, but the midfielder is thriving at his new club.
Smith Rowe was once a prodigal talent at Arsenal after coming through the Hale End Academy, but injuries derailed his progress at the club, and he made just three Premier League starts in the last two seasons.
His last competitive goal for Arsenal came in April 2022, but he has been on fire for Fulham after joining in a deal which could rise to £34m.
After scoring on his debut in pre-season, he has now netted a second goal in as many games, ahead of the commencement of the Premier League campaign next season.
Former Arsenal star Alex Iwobi is already linking up well with Smith Rowe, and his pass found the 24-year-old’s run, who fired the ball at Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann, which somehow found it’s way into the net to give Fulham the lead in their friendly clash.
Despite his recent exit from the club, Arsenal fans have a lot to say about Smith Rowe’s goal and his ambitions for the season.

Arsenal fans praise Emile Smith Rowe after latest pre-season goal
Arsenal fans are hoping that Smith Rowe will find his best form, and after seeing his latest goal, they are now convinced that he is ready to have a huge impact in the Premier League this season.
“Emile Smith Rowe scores again, don’t sleep on him, gonna be a massive player for Fulham,” one Arsenal fan posted on X.
“Smith Rowe plays as a 10 and starts producing, who would’ve thought,” another fan posted, highlighting how his role changed at Arsenal.
“Smith Rowe is gonna be a joy to watch this season,” a fan claimed.
“Smith Rowe on the score sheet for Fulham again. Safe to say, he has got the fresh start he needed. There’s a real talent in there and it will show with game time,” an Arsenal fan stated.
Some Arsenal fans are also convinced that Smith Rowe will shine so brightly, that Arsenal may end up regretting his sale.
“Should have put a buyback clause on Smith Rowe,” a fan pointed out.
“Letting our most dynamic midfielder go is criminal from Arteta and Edu,” a fan fumed.
“Fulham are so lucky to have Emile Smith Rowe,” a fan posted.
Will Arsenal regret selling Emile Smith Rowe?
Arsenal gained a massive financial boost from the sale of Smith Rowe, but he could end up being worth a lot more if he finds his best form again.
Arsenal did insert a sell-on clause in his deal, meaning that if he earns a huge move elsewhere, the club will still benefit.
Smith Rowe was popular at Arsenal, but he was unlikely to gain the game time he needed to recover his best ability and full fitness, and it was the right time for the player and club to part ways as a fresh start was necessary, so if he performs well, there will still be more respect than regret.
