Arsenal supporters have now all reacted to the latest transfer news regarding young starlet Reuell Walters.
Reuell Walters has left Arsenal.
The 19-year-old defender was highly thought of within the club’s Hale End academy system, having been on the books with the North London club since 2020.
Arsenal did try to convince Walters to pen a new deal this summer. However, the teenager ignored Mikel Arteta’s contract offer and has now moved on without ever having made a first team appearance for the club.
Luton Town have now officially announced the signing of Walters. The England under-20 international is now set for his first taste of senior football and will be hoping to show what he can do in the Championship this season.
Ultimately, Walters always faced a tough task in breaking through at Arsenal. The Gunners boasted the best defence in the country last season, so getting any kind of regular game time with the likes of Ben White, William Saliba, and Jurrien Timber ahead of him in the pecking order was always going to be a tall order for the teenager.
However, many Arsenal fans are still dissatisfied with Walters’ departure.

Arsenal fans respond to Reuell Walters switch to Luton Town
After confirmation of the youngster’s move, plenty of Arsenal fans took to X to share their thoughts.
One angered supporter said: “Close the academy.”
Another bemoaned: “They will end up getting loads of money for him…”
One fan asked: “Somehow, we are letting go of all our young stars. Is this how we want to build a sustainable football club?”
One stated: “Could have easily just sell him with a sell on clause instead of keeping him last season lol. We can’t sell our players but the moment they are free agent, top clubs sign them.”
Another added: “He’s a baller.”
Another claimed: “This kid will have an amazing career.”
Arsenal must make use of their academy
Whilst Walters has now gone, there are still a number of exciting prospects in the club’s academy. Ethan Nwaneri has the capacity to follow in the footsteps of Lamine Yamal.
Meanwhile, Myles-Lewis Skelly could emulate England star Kobbie Mainoo.
