Arsenal legend Thierry Henry was back on the pitch for a charity game in Qatar.

Match For Hope invited superstars like the Arsenal icon along with players like Andres Iniesta, Alessandro Del Piero, Andrea Pirlo and David Silva, and social media personalities such as KSI and iShowSpeed.

Arsene Wenger and Mauricio Pochettino were the managers in the dugout for the charity game which was played to ‘raise funds for essential education to children and young people most in need, particularly in regions affected by conflicts, disasters, or poverty.’

Henry played for Team KSI X AboFlah, and the legendary Frenchman rolled back the years with a stunning display despite being 47 years old.

Yes, he wasn’t at his vintage best, but he was arguably the best player on the pitch and made things look extremely easy.

Arsenal fans, as you would expect, had a few things to say after watching their hero in action again.

Arsenal fans react to Thierry Henry playing football again

Henry gave Arsenal fans a lot of joy for many years when he was at the club.

The World Cup winner is the best player in the history of the Premier League. He was unstoppable in his prime and gave nightmares to several great defenders.

Watching Henry back on the pitch in Qatar was nostalgic to many Arsenal fans, and after seeing him in action, Gooners had just one thing to say – sign him up!

One Arsenal fan tweeted: “Thierry Henry. Class is permanent. Free agent. Sign him up!”

Another wrote: “We need to bring him back. I don’t even care, I know he will get the job done for us.”

“Oh, just do it. The sheer presence around the team and bench would be worth 6 pts. At 47. 47! Last 10 mins of games. Can you imagine the atmosphere when he’s warming up? My god,” said another.

Another Gooner wrote: “Arsenal and Arteta, get me this player. I’ve seen enough.”

“Six months contract bro, Arteta. I’m not joking, he’s more than capable of carrying us for the next six months,” tweeted another.

Arsenal should sign the new Thierry Henry

Before people start losing their minds, let us tell you that Arsenal will not be bringing Henry back to the club, at least not as a player.

However, the Gunners do need a new striker, and someone as good as Henry once was would be ideal in the summer transfer window.

Alexander Isak has been dubbed the new Thierry Henry by many people, and he would be absolutely perfect for Arsenal and Arteta.

Stan Kroenke and the board let the Arsenal manager down in January by not signing anyone in the winter transfer window.

The best way to make up for that would be by spending the money required to sign Isak.
