Aaron Ramsey is well-loved by Arsenal fans even to this day.

The Welshman joined the Gunners as a teenager in 2008 and spent 11 years at the club. He helped Arsene Wenger’s side win three FA Cups in that period.

In 2019, the midfielder was let go by Arsenal at the end of his contract, and he joined Italian giants Juventus on a free transfer.

Recently, Ramsey revealed that Unai Emery forced Arsenal to withdraw a new contract offer that was already agreed between the player and the club.

He said: “Did I want to leave Arsenal? No, I didn’t. Things happened that summer. I had a contract that I had agreed with the club, and then Unai came in and put a hold on everything.

“That’s when the contract was taken away from me, which I didn’t want. I wanted to stay at Arsenal.”

Aaron Ramsey was in tears on his final day at the Emirates Stadium.

The former Cardiff man loved the Gunners, and it was always clear that he wanted to stay at the club. However, Unai Emery had other ideas, and Arsenal fans are now furious with him.

After hearing Ramsey’s story, one tweeted: “Not going to lie, we genuinely don’t hate Emery enough.”

Another wrote: “I hate Emery. Ramsey was supposed to retire at this club.”

“I knew it, and it disgusts me even more now that it’s so clear. He was the preordained captain of this team,” wrote another.

Another Gooner said: “Bottled Europa league, went on the worst run the club has ever seen and this. Only good thing he did was promote Bukayo Saka. Worst manager of all time!”

“I defended Unai, and I’d do it again. But this? I will never forgive him. Ramsey was one of the club’s kids. He carried the club on his shoulders despite the injuries. He should have stayed at Arsenal,” said another.

Unai Emery is a great manager, but his time at Arsenal was a disaster

Emery is a fantastic manager, and his record speaks for itself.

The Spaniard has done a great job across many different clubs, and he is leading Aston Villa really well too, in the Premier League and Europe.

However, appointing Emery as Wenger’s successor was a terrible mistake. He took the club a few steps backwards, made some really poor signings, and let players like Ramsey leave too.

Those who say Arsenal should’ve stuck with Emery have no idea what they are talking about. He was rightly shown the door in 2019, and Mikel Arteta has since transformed the club.
