Arsenal’s top transfer target Morgan Rogers has decided to join Chelsea.
Mikel Arteta’s side have been linked with several wide players since the end of last season, but none more than the Aston Villa star.
Arsenal seemed to be the favourites to sign Rogers, but all of a sudden, David Ornstein has revealed that Chelsea are about to close the deal to sign the Englishman.
The journalist tweeted just a few moments ago: “Chelsea reach verbal agreement with Aston Villa to sign Morgan Rogers. Bid of £117 million accepted by Aston Villa and is being finalised. 6+1-year contract, medical Monday. Arsenal were interested, but the 23-year-old attacker wanted Chelsea.”
Arsenal supporters are far from happy and have demanded an alternative to be signed immediately.

Missing out on Morgan Rogers is a massive blow for Arsenal as they were leading the race for his signature for several weeks.
The Premier League champions need to respond now, and fans all have just one name in mind – Bradley Barcola.
One tweeted: “If the player wanted to go elsewhere, no need to sulk. Move on, get Barcola.”
Another said: “Bring Barcola immediately!”
“Berta has to go in for Bradley Barcola now. It’s the only way the club can remedy this,” wrote another.
Another annoyed fan posted: “Get Barcola or Berta gets sacked.”
“Berta, you go get me Barcola right now,” commented another.
Arsenal need to go big on a different attacker
Arsenal need to act fast after missing out on Rogers.
There are only a handful of attackers who are at that level, and missing out on Arteta’s number one target to a rival is not a good look at all.
The £116 million-rated Barcola is the obvious alternative, while Julian Alvarez would be a statement signing as well.
Berta won over Arsenal fans with his work in his first summer transfer window. If he doesn’t get an elite attacker in, those supporters will surely turn on him.
