Arsenal fans flock to transfer rumour, Arteta told to ‘leave’ if deal isn’t done

There is now doubt surrounding the future of Eddie Nketiah at Arsenal.

Whilst Arsenal are not actively seeking to move on Eddie Nketiah, transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that there is a great deal of interest in the striker and a big offer could convince Mikel Arteta to part with him. 

Nketiah himself could well be tempted to leave the Emirates Stadium, as he is not a regular starter for the north London club. Certainly, if he has ambitions to add to the sole England cap which he was awarded earlier this season then he needs to be playing regular football.

As things stand, he is very much behind Gabriel Jesus in the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium. There is also speculation that Arteta is on the hunt for another striker, which would likely restrict Nketiah’s game time even further if another forward were to arrive.

The 24-year-old Hale End academy graduate certainly has his strengths. He is a willing runner and an excellent finisher if given opportunities. However, he has had his critics, and he is not of the elite level required for a striker to lead the line for a title-chasing side week in, week out. 

He does provide valuable back up, though, and has popped up with some very important goals for the Gunners. 

Arsenal fans split in Eddie Nketiah debate

Arsenal fans are divided on the prospect of seeing Nketiah depart. Taking to X to discuss the latest rumour, one fan said, “I genuinely love him! I hope he stays with us for a long time, who else is willing to be a second striker and be as good as him?”

Another supporter agreed with this statement, chipping in with, “I don’t think Arsenal should sell this guy,he is a goal scorer and will keep getting better.”

That is far from a universal opinion on the matter, though. As one fan said, “Arsenal should be desperate to sell in this instance.” Another claimed that “We are not serious as a football club if we are happy with Eddie Nketiah.”

One supporter even went as far as to say “Arteta should leave my club if he holds onto this mid player. We aren’t winning a trophy with a manager that rates Nketiah so highly. He scored 5 goals this season, 3 in 1 match against a Championship side. No thank you!”

However, one fan is adamant that Nketiah deserves to be shown more respect than this off the back of the contribution he has already made, saying, “So many ungrateful Arsenal Fans on here. He delivered for crying out loud.”
