Arsenal fans were left delighted by the display of Myles Lewis-Skelly once again as the star impressed in his side’s win over Leicester in the Premier League.
It came as the Gunners returned to action after a week-long break in Dubai, where the squad looked to rest and recharge once more.
Even with that much-needed break came adversity as Kai Havertz’s hamstring injury while away led to confirmation he would be out for the season.
With no recognised senior centre-forwards available, Arsenal relied on Mikel Merino to score a brace against Leicester to hand them the win.
While it will no doubt be remembered for the midfielder’s impressive display, it wasn’t possible without an intervention at the other end from Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Arsenal fans react to Myles Lewis-Skelly clearance vs Leicester
Despite only making his debut this season, Lewis-Skelly has moved from Hale End academy prospect to an important senior option.
While a midfielder by trade, the 18-year-old has been playing at left-back and continues to move from strength to strength in that position.
That continued in the clash with Leicester, where an impressive goal-saving clearance denied the Foxes a clear tap-in to take the lead against Arsenal.
It was a vital foot-in from the youngster, who ensured Arsenal kept the game level and went on to win it.
Fans were impressed on social media, with one supporter stating: “MLS clearance too kept us in the game. Nwaneri assist and carried us the whole game. HALE END.”
Another added: “Saka injured, all of our Lbs injured and hale end just spawned Nwaneri and MLS, we are so lucky.”
Some supporters were particularly keen to point out the defending at the back post, stating: “MLS tho. He won us the game with that last ditched touch on De Cordova-Reid. If he doesn’t touch it it’s 1-0 to them and tap in. Brilliant again from him.”
Another added: “Myles Lewis Skelly’s back post defending btw. Seasoned FBs would be proud. Two top actions on Silva and Haaland against Citeh, similar scenarios against Villa and Spurs and now today. Key moment in the game.”
Even hours later, fans were raving about the interception, stating: “Still thinking about that MLS clearance.”
While it was an impressive moment, his all-round display was just another trend of great performances from the youngster.

Hale End academy could save Arsenal’s season
In football, the phrase “if you’re good enough, you’re old enough” is often used to describe those who are able to compete at the top from a young age.
It’s clearly put into practice by those at the Hale End academy, with Arsenal making great use of their young talent this season.
Lewis-Skelly has made an impact at left-back, holding down the position with not only great technical skills but a defensive awareness too.
Add to that the spark provided by Ethan Nwaneri, who has an unpredictable nature, and it has made the perfect recipe for success.
While I’m sure the circumstances of the pair coming in during an injury-hit season and some points behind Liverpool is far from ideal, they can prove the difference in the title race and emerge as heroes just a few months into their senior careers.
For Arsenal, Hale End can save their season.
