Eddie Nketiah could be set to say goodbye to Arsenal this summer.

With Emile Smith Rowe having already left Arsenal, another Hale End academy graduate, in the shape of Eddie Nketiah, could now be set to follow him out.

The striker was linked with a switch to Marseille. However, that deal now looks to have fallen through. According to Metro, the French side had agreed personal terms with Nketiah, but refused to meet the Gunners’ £25 million asking price.

Bournemouth have now entered the race to sign the 25-year-old, as the Cherries are seeking a replacement for Dominic Solanke, following his switch to Tottenham Hotspur. The south coast club certainly have money to spend, given they raked in an initial £55 million for parting with Solanke, as per BBC Sport

Mikel Arteta would clearly be willing to part with Nketiah, and sporting director Edu must now ensure that Arsenal fetch a top fee for the once-capped England international.

Nketiah wants to leave Arsenal, and the club shouldn’t stand in his way. For the sake of his career, the forward needs to move on from North London, as he won’t get the regular game time he needs with the Gunners.

However, Arsenal fans are adamant that the club need to hold out on selling him until their demands are met.

Arsenal fans make demand of Edu over Eddie Nketiah deal

Many Arsenal fans on X have made it clear that Edu was right not to cave in to Marseille’s demands for a lower fee. Now, they want to see the Brazilian get a good deal out of Nketiah’s exit.

One fan said: “Want Nketiah sold but bending to disrespectful offers and lowballing us shouldn’t be acceptable. Especially for Marseille whom we have loaned players to and we are supposed to maintain a good relationship.”

Another stated: “We have to make a stand. If we want to make bank like Brighton it needs to be clear.”

One claimed: “Eddie Nketiah is homegrown and Premier League proven. Edu is about to have some fun.”

Another added: “He’s a £30m player at least, Arsenal are right to draw the line.”

Will Arsenal replace Nketiah?

Whilst Nketiah clearly isn’t in Arteta’s plans going forward, his departure would arguably leave the Gunners a little light in terms of attacking options.

Arsenal have been linked with many strikers this summer. However, Simon Adingra could be the perfect Nketiah replacement, if the Gunners were to make a surprise move for the Brighton star.
