Arsenal fans have a lot to say as Champions League opponents announced, they can’t wait for one fixture

The Champions League league-phase draw has now taken place, and Arsenal have learned who they will face in the coming months.

Arsenal reached the quarter-finals of the competition last season after a seven-year absence, but fell just short against Bayern Munich.

The format of the Champions League has now changed, and instead of a group stage, there is one giant league table, with each side playing against eight different teams to try and qualify for the knockout rounds.

Mikel Arteta’s side have avoided the last few Champions, with no games against heavyweights Real Madrid, Bayern Munich or the other English sides, and fans are looking at the fixture list favourably.

Arsenal have been drawn at home to Paris Saint-Germain, Shakhtar Donetsk, Dinamo Zagreb and AS Monaco, and away to Inter Milan, Atalanta, Sporting CP and Girona.

Arsenal fans are excited at the draw, and are particularly buzzing at the prospect of facing Serie A giants Inter at the famous San Siro Stadium.

Arsenal fans excited to face Inter Milan after Champions League draw

Arsenal fans have taken to X to express their delight with the draw, and many have pointed out that the trip to face Inter will be an exciting one on the big stage.

“Arsenal vs Inter is a fixture I have been waiting to see more than any other. Now we finally get it at the legendary San Siro. Love it,” one fan claimed.

“Love it. Will be a great experience to play at Inter and to play against PSG,” another fan posted.

Fans also believe that facing Inter and PSG from pot one is something of a let-off given the other possible opponents.

“Arsenal not bad from the pot 1. PSG at Home, Inter away,” a fan pointed out.

“That’s spectacular all things considering the alternatives, I’d preferred to stay away from Bayern, Barca and especially Real Madrid,” a fan claimed.

“Bergamo, Milan, Lisbon & Barcelona trips. Whilst not facing the dynamic forwards of AC Milan & Barcelona too. Perfect draw,” another fan pointed out.

Arsenal trip to Inter Milan will be exciting

Facing Inter Milan, who won Serie A with ease last season, will be a difficult tie. The Italian side are not only historic giants, but they are one of the best teams in Europe.

Inter reached the final two seasons ago, but lost to Manchester City, and were eliminated in the round of 16 against Atletico Madrid last year.

It is a blockbuster clash against a huge side at a historic stadium, and it will be a good test of the quality and mental strength within Arteta’s side.
