Arsenal fans are not happy after what Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has said about Moises Caicedo.

The Ecuador international joined the Blues in a £115 million deal from Brighton in 2023, and he has developed well at Stamford Bridge.

Caicedo is having his best season in the Premier League right now, so he deserves a lot of praise, but Maresca may have taken things too far.

The Chelsea boss has claimed that Caicedo, along with Manchester City’s Rodri, is the best defensive midfielder in the world right now.

Arsenal fans who watch Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi play every game think otherwise.

Arsenal fans hit back at Enzo Maresca for snubbing Declan Rice

Rice and Zubimendi have both been unbelievable for Arsenal this season.

Both players are right up there with the best in the world, which is why Arsenal fans have hit back at Maresca for snubbing them in favour of Moises Caicedo and Rodri.

One Arsenal fan wrote: “No club in this whole wide world is benching Rice to start Caicedo if they play for the same team.”

Another tweeted: “How anyone says Rice is better than Caicedo is purely deluded. This man is clearly the best.”

“Is Rice a joke to you?” questioned another fan after reading Maresca’s comments.

Another Gooner sarcastically said: “This only means Zubimendi and Rice are living on Mars.”

“So is Declan Rice a joke of a DM? None of these two players are currently up to Rice’s level,” tweeted another.

Declan Rice is better than Moises Caicedo

Caicedo is a tremendous player, and he is finally living up to his potential at Chelsea.

However, Rice’s ability, consistency and all-round game are levels above that of the Ecuadorian, and some of the best midfielders of all time have said the same.

Manchester United legend Roy Keane claimed that he would take Rice over Caicedo every day of the week because he is a better player.

Even Patrick Vieira described Rice as a complete midfielder and one of the best in the business.

Caicedo is younger than the Arsenal number 41 and can go on to become a better midfielder one day. But as things stand, Rice is the superior player.
