Arsenal fans were seriously impressed by one thing that former striker Thierry Henry just did on the training pitch.

Iconic former Arsenal star Thierry Henry is currently preparing to manage the France national team at the Olympic Games in Paris this summer.

Henry did request that Arsenal release William Saliba to take part in the competition, but Mikel Arteta blocked this. As the Olympic Games are not affiliated with Fifa or Uefa, clubs have no obligation to allow their players to take part.

France will still be amongst the favourites for the gold medal, though, and will be boosted by playing in their own capital city.

The Olympics also represent an opportunity for Henry to really prove himself as a manager, and there will certainly be plenty of attention on how his side perform in the tournament.

Seeing the 46-year-old with a ball at his feet on the training pitch, he certainly looks relaxed. There is also an argument that the Arsenal legend could still impress at the tournament on the pitch himself, were he to don his boots again.

Arsenal fans wowed by Thierry Henry in France training

In footage posted by the France national team’s official X account, Henry could be seen burying the ball in the back of the net with the kind of trademark nonchalance that made him so beloved in North London.

Arsenal fans who saw the clip were quick to marvel at his enduring ability.

One said: “Legend is a legend… nothing can stop that. The best premier League player of all time.”

Another added: “This Man can still play for us and still guarantee us 15-20goals a season.”

One stated: “Oh my G…dat trade mark far post finish.”

Another exclaimed: “Class is permanent.”

One supporter joked: “Can we sign him.”

Another fan said: “There’s only one Thierry Henry.”

Thierry Henry’s Arsenal legacy

Henry is the top goalscorer in the North London club’s history, having racked up 228 strikes in 377 games, across all competitions. In his time with the Gunners, he won two Premier League titles and two FA Cups. He has since been immortalised in statue-form outside the Emirates Stadium.

Henry remains supportive of Arsenal.
