Arsenal fans are becoming increasingly annoyed with Martin Zubimendi following a near-costly error against Chelsea.
The Spanish international almost gifted Chelsea a goal as he panicked under pressure and fired a pass back into David Raya, which Joao Pedro nearly turned home.
TRUE or FALSE: Arsenal MUST upgrade on Martin Zubimendi this summer?
The Gunners’ supporters will also remember his error for Bryan Mbuemo’s goal at the Emirates Stadium a few weeks back, and it’s becoming a real worry.
Some are even calling for a new midfielder to be signed in the summer, with Andrea Berta being called to get ready for the next window.
Arsenal fans want to sign an upgrade on Martin Zubimendi after his mistake vs Chelsea
Arsenal fans want Berta to start assessing potential Martin Zubimendi upgrades following his mistake against Chelsea.
The Spanish midfielder has shown he has struggled to deal with pressure at times, and it has proven costly for the Gunners.
During the first 60 minutes at the Emirates, the Spanish international completed just 14 of his 19 passes and just looked rather laboured.
Zubimendi has shown his class plenty of times this season; however, his sheer number of games now seems to be catching up with him.
During the first half, fans took to social media to express their frustrations towards the 26-year-old, and a clear message has been sent to Berta.
One fan said: “We need to move on from Zubimendi as a starter next season.”
“Zubimendi is useless. A midfielder should be a priority when the transfer window opens,” added another fan.
There was yet more frustration aimed at Zubimendi: “I don’t think Norgard will do worse than Zubimendi in this team. Zubimendi can’t make a forward pass, can’t really defend the channels, can’t make a simple two-yard pass.”
Do you think Christian Norgaard could challenge Martin Zubimendi as a starter at Arsenal?

Finally, another added: “Zubimendi might be the worst £50m signing of all time. What does he even do!”
His latest error came close to gifting Chelsea a goal, and supporters have been questioning why Mikel Arteta keeps picking him.
Meanwhile, Christian Norgaard has impressed in cup matches, but has been used rather sparingly by the manager since joining from Brentford.
