Arsenal fans were once again wowed by Declan Rice on Saturday.
Declan Rice produced another dominant performance in the middle of the park against Brentford on Saturday evening as Arsenal went top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 win.
Arsenal had to be patient at the Gtech Community Stadium. The Bees defended diligently, sitting deep, and focusing their defensive efforts on nullifying the impact that Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli could have on the flanks.
However, the Gunners still had to be defensively solid at times. Rice made one vital intervention at the back, making a crucial goal-line block after Arsenal had lost possession of the ball in their own penalty area.
He was equally impressive on the ball, as he kept the ball moving and took responsibility for getting his team up the pitch on several occasions with some trademark driving runs.
This level of performance from the 24-year-old has become the norm since he arrived at the Emirates Stadium in a club-record £105 million move in the recent summer transfer window. Rice has been a revelation for Arsenal so far this season.
Mikel Arteta has been full of praise for the player too, and expects even more big things to come from the England man. The Spanish coach has even tipped Rice to be a future Arsenal captain.

Declan Rice stepping up for Arsenal with Thomas Partey missing
With Thomas Partey currently sidelined with injury, and his future at Arsenal in doubt, there is even more of an onus on Rice to stay fit and in form. So far, he is stepping up to that task in a sensational manner.
After the win over Brentford, plenty of Arsenal fans took to X to hail Rice’s contribution and his ability to ensure that the team doesn’t suffer without Partey. One supporter said, “Declan Rice is the reason we’re not missing Thomas Partey. Crazy player we’ve got.”
Another fan said Rice “is the steal of the century…how he combines the role of Xhaka and Partey together successfully is a cheat! Massive character.” Another agreed, stating, “It’s finally Declan over Partey for me.”
One fan said, “Almost laughable at this point how good Declan Rice is. Just dominates in every aspect of the game.”
Rice was signed in the summer to take Arsenal’s midfield unit to the next level. So far, he has certainly done that. He has also shown that there are elements of his game that can still evolve and improve, especially in the final third. The best may well be yet to come.
