Gabriel Martinelli has already withdrawn from the Brazil squad owing to his foot injury he suffered at Sheffield United.

But with the title race between Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool now really heating up, fans will undoubtedly be keeping a keen eye on the condition of their respective players.

And to that point, they’ll also be keeping a suspicious eye on their opposition clubs too, perhaps believing that players could enjoy some added protection from extra games away with their international teams.

That’s certainly the case with Kevin De Bruyne at least, with a fair few Arsenal fans now all believing his injury could be exaggerated.

Arsenal fans speculate Kevin De Bruyne could be exaggerating his injury

Journalist Kristof Terreur initially revealed the news of De Bruyne’s withdrawal from the Belgium squad today.

And he did share national team manager, Domenico Tedesco, words on the withdrawal.

Tedesco said: “He’s been playing with a minor groin issue during the last games.

“Yesterday I spoke to the doctor and Kevin and we decided that the risk is too big. It’s better to give him time to recover well at City and then have him ready for the Euros.“

Not too impressed

A fair few Arsenal fans have now been replying to the original post Terreur shared, and they don’t seem too impressed.

One fan replied saying: “Oh imagine the shock. Man City players faking injuries to not have to represent their countries.”

Another fan remarked: “We understand Manchester City’s games, that doesn’t stop Arsenal from landing the PL trophy.”

And then there were some who still felt confident regardless: “Rest him well for us. We are still going to get a decent result.”

And it’s not only Arsenal fans replying, there’s a fair few Liverpool fans also speculating that De Bruyne’s may be being rather heavily protected from his injury.

All that being said, the stage is already being set for that huge encounter at the Etihad at the end of the month.

And perhaps some at City will now be analysing how Pepe believes Porto stopped one Arsenal star last night
