Arsenal were beaten by Aston Villa after a dramatic last-minute goal.

The Gunners were really poor for most of the clash and deserved nothing from the game. So, they cannot have any complaints about the result.

The loss is very frustrating as Manchester City are now just two points below in the Premier League table, but most fans have been understanding because several players looked fatigued at Villa Park.

That’s because Arsenal had played five games in 13 days, most of which were extremely demanding.

So, ahead of their upcoming fixtures, starting with the Champions League clash against Club Brugge, Arsenal fans have some advice for Mikel Arteta.

How many wins will Arsenal secure in their final six matches of 2026?

Arsenal fans tell Mikel Arteta to ‘play the kids’ vs Club Brugge

Arsenal have an easier game coming up after a tough recent run.

Club Brugge are a decent side, but having won their first five games in the Champions League, the Gunners don’t have to go all out in that game.

So, Arsenal fans have urged Arteta to rest his key players on Wednesday night.

One tweeted: “Play the reserves against Club Brugge! Give the players a rest, and start again from next weekend.”

Another wrote: “Time for Marli Salmon, Lewis-Skelly, Nwaneri and Max Dowman for the Club Brugge game. Field the entire second string plus some reserves to keep the first 11 fresh for the league games.”

“Club Brugge – play the reserves. Wolves as well,” said another.

Another Gooner posted: “If Arteta doesn’t play the full bench + kids against Club Brugge I’m gonna lose it.”

“Play the kids in the Club Brugge game,” said another.

Five Arsenal players must be rested vs Club Brugge

Several Arsenal players looked really tired against Aston Villa, and none of them should be in the starting lineup when they face Club Brugge.

Riccardo Calafiori was spotted limping after the game at Villa Park, and he should be rested. Myles Lewis-Skelly can play in his place.

Mikel Merino’s poor display against Villa was likely down to fatigue too. He should make way for Viktor Gyokeres on Wednesday.

Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi have also played a lot this season and deserve a break. Christian Norgaard can play as the number six with Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze starting ahead of him.

Finally, Arsenal should rest David Raya and give Kepa Arrizabalaga a go in goal.
