Arsenal fans think Mikel Arteta already has the perfect Smith Rowe replacement in his squad

Many Arsenal fans woke up to the news that Fulham are closing in on the signing of Emile Smith Rowe this summer.

The Englishman is a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium. He is one of our own, and it’s such a shame that injuries have hampered his progression over the last two seasons.

Smith Rowe was a part of the Arsenal squad that faced Bournemouth in the early hours of Thursday, but Mikel Arteta did not bring him on.

That’s because he could be on the move very soon, and there are people wondering if Arsenal will dive into the market to replace him if he does leave.

However, many Gooners feel Arteta already has a readymade replacement for Smith Rowe at Arsenal.

Arsenal fans think Ethan Nwaneri is the perfect Emile Smith Rowe replacement

Ethan Nwaneri started for Arsenal against Bournemouth, and he was very impressive, especially in the first half of the game. The teenager showed no fear and looked very comfortable against Premier League opposition.

Arsenal fans are beyond impressed with Nwaneri, and after hearing that Smith Rowe could leave, many have tipped the teenager as the perfect replacement.

Another wrote: “Smith Rowe leaving doesn’t need a replacement by the way. The replacement is more minutes to Vieira and Nwaneri, simple.”

“Goodbye man Emile Smith Rowe. Thanks for the memories. Time to promote Nwaneri,” said another fan.

Another supporter said: “Nwaneri making people forget about Smith Rowe already.”

What Arsenal should do with the Smith Rowe money

Seeing Smith Rowe leave the club is very sad.

Every Arsenal fan wanted to see the Englishman become a superstar at the club, and if it weren’t for injuries, he probably would’ve fulfilled his potential.

However, a move away is the best thing for both parties considering that Arsenal are set to receive a fee in the region of £35 million (Athletic) and Smith Rowe will get to play regular football at Fulham.

That is good money for a player who has barely played over the last two seasons, and we think Arsenal should use that fee to help sign a new attacker.

Arsenal fans are right – Nwaneri can take Smith Rowe’s place in the side next season. He is a great option off the bench and training more regularly with the seniors will help him become even better.

If Edu can sign someone like Nico Williams or Eberechi Eze by using the money he is set to receive for Smith Rowe, we think it would take Arsenal to the next level.
