Arsenal fans have now responded to the latest comments from Gabriel Jesus.
Whilst on international duty, Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus recently made a strange admission.
The Brazilian forward said, “the goal is inevitable, and I don’t think it’s my strong suit.”
Jesus certainly isn’t the most most prolific of forwards. In his 44 appearances for Arsenal so far across all competitions, since his £45 million arrival from Manchester City in the summer of 2022, he has netted just 15 times.
This is not a terrible return by any means, but it does not stack up well with many other strikers who are currently plying their trade for teams also competing at the top end of the Premier League table. Over the same period of time, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has racked up 69 strikes, Darwin Nunez of Liverpool has contributed 22 goals, and Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min has also found the back of the net on 22 occasions.
Jesus has generally played less matches than any of the names above, as he has also proven to be injury-prone in his time at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of the 26-year-old. He has previously said that Jesus “changed our world” after joining Arsenal, as quoted by BBC Sport.
It is easy to see the point that the Spanish coach is getting at there. If not reliable goalscoring, the 63-cap Brazil international brings a lot to this Arsenal side with his technical ability, flair, work rate, and willingness to drop deep and bring his teammates into play.

Arsenal fans losing patience with Gabriel Jesus
That being said, if Arsenal want to stand the best possible chance of winning a Premier League title, then they need a natural goalscorer with killer instincts leading the line.
Plenty of Arsenal fans, off the back of Jesus’ latests comments, are now convinced that he is not the man who should be spearheading the Gunners’ attack.
Taking to X, one fan said, “he just said that “he isn’t a strong goal scorer.” #afc over to you. Get us a striker who knows his onions and makes scoring goals his strong point.” Another supporter agreed, urging Arteta to “get him out of our club , we need a serious striker in our club.”
One fan provided some advice on how Jesus might be able to boost his end product output, suggesting, “what he needs to do is to stop dropping to deep positions, left back, DM center back and all that. He does too much, goes to other position and that makes him lack where he should be. Needs to learn to stay in box, anticipate cleverly and finish off. Use those skills in the box!”
Another supporter said Jesus “needs to change his belief,” in order to become a more effective goalscorer.
