Bukayo Saka withdraws from England squad with injury
All associated with Arsenal watched with great anxiety as Saka hobbled off in the 51st minute during England’s loss.
The winger was seen to clutch his hamstring, sparking fear back in North London over the severity of the blow.
Now, an update on the forward’s next steps has been provided, as the England camp confirmed that the 23-year-old has withdrawn from the squad.
A statement from the Three Lions read that Saka ‘has returned to Arsenal for further assessment’, ruling him out of the upcoming fixture against Finland.
It’s a concerning update from the England camp from an Arsenal point of view, as the winger is not deemed to be fit enough to continue on international duty.
Arsenal will closely monitor Saka
If there’s one player that Arteta would not like to lose to injury right now, it’s Saka.
The Hale End product has been phenomenal so far this campaign, contributing heavily to Arsenal’s goals, already recording two goals and seven assists in the Premier League.
