Mikel Arteta will be relieved as it now appears that Arsenal star Gabriel Magalhaes has escaped a possible injury.
The defender made his full debut for Brazil in their thrashing of Bolivia, and impressed at the back for his country, but came off towards the end of the game.
He was seen nursing his thigh on the bench after he was substituted, and there were reported fears that he had picked up an injury.
However, medical expert Dr Rajpal Brar has now claimed that Gabriel should be fine, and the knock was a result of contact rather than a muscle strain.
Why Pele Is Overrated.
“Based on what multiple people have told me, sounds contact-related. Overall good news,” he posted on X in response to the potential injury.
Gabriel is here to stay
It has not been an easy start to the season for Gabriel. The 25-year-old was surprisingly benched for Arsenal’s first three games of the season, with Arteta trying a different tactical setup, before coming back into the starting XI against Manchester United.

There were also transfer links with clubs in Saudi Arabia, but it emerged that Arsenal had absolutely no plans to sell him, for any price.

Gabriel looked excellent against Man United, helping the Gunners secure a late win with a masterful piece of defending that led to Alejandro Garnacho’s goal being ruled out for offside, and assuming he is fit again, he will keep his place in the side.
He signed a long-term contract last season, and he is now set to stay at the club and in the starting XI for the foreseeable future.
Gabriel joined the club in 2020, and has established himself as one of the best central defenders in the Premier League. A big season lays ahead for the Brazilian, and he will be delighted that his strong performances have earned him a place in his National side.
