Injury updates on Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber
Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber have both missed Arsenal’s last two games with injuries, and ahead of a clash with Liverpool, Mikel Arteta will hope to have both fit.
The Daily Mail have now reported that Saka is hoping to “prove his fitness” before the Liverpool game on Sunday, with Arsenal accepting that a late decision will have to be made over their star player.
A similar decision will be made over Timber, with Arteta desperately needing both to be fit.

Arsenal could be without several key defenders, and they have struggled to create chances in Saka’s absence, with the duo likely to heavily influence the result against the league leaders.

Gael Clichy questions Arsenal’s Champions League credentials
Former Arsenal left-back Gael Clichy had a lot to say about his old side after their unconvincing 1-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Frenchman told Amazon Prime Video that whilst Arsenal have a lot of quality, they will also need luck in order to stand any chance of winning the Champions League.

“I still feel they are missing a little something, if they can add this fearlessness, and this more adventurous character, I think they can go all the way,” he stated.
“But so far, they still need to prove that they can do it. But you go all the way by winning those sort of games [against Shakhtar Donetsk] even if you don’t play well.”

Bukayo Saka leads Premier League in new statistic

It has now emerged that Saka is better than every other Premier League player in one key statistic.
According to FBref, Saka has totalled 1.43 goals and assists per 90 minutes, a better figure than any other player in the division, including Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland.
This emphasises the need for Saka to return to face Liverpool, with it abundantly clear what the England star offers to Arteta’s team.
