Arsenal’s poor recent form threatens to derail their season, and fans are concerned about performances and results.

Mikel Arteta’s side have lost three of their last four away games, and failed to score against Bournemouth, Newcastle and Inter Milan.

The absence of Martin Odegaard certainly has not helped, with Arsenal struggling for creativity without him, and a number of attacking players are struggling to find their best form.

With criticism of his side growing, Arteta has now held a meeting with his players to address their poor form, and the Arsenal boss has revealed the reaction his squad had.

Mikel Arteta reveals reaction to Arsenal poor form

Speaking in a press conference ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Chelsea, Arteta revealed that he held a meeting with his players on Friday to address the issues they have had recently.

“When you don’t win it affects the mood and energy but the positive thing is that it is impossible that anyone in this room or outside wants to win more than I do, and these guys in the dressing room want to do,” Arteta explained.

“Today I had a meeting with them about it and I can sense it straight away. What I sense as well is a big belief about how good we are as a team, and again what we did in Milan watching it back twice, I hadn’t seen my team doing that against them.”

Mikel Arteta addresses Arsenal’s attacking problems

Arsenal clearly have a problem in attack, with the team struggling to create and finish big chances, and Arteta has now directly addressed these issues.

“In the end, that [winning] is the only thing that anybody is going to judge, not how superior you were to the opponent, that you outrun the opponent, you out-performed the opponent in every single way,” Arteta added.

“It is about how they scored a goal and you didn’t. We have a problem, and the problem has to be resolved by scoring more goals than the opponent – that’s it.”

The potential return of Odegaard should help his side, but if Arsenal’s issues in front of goal remain, serious questions will be asked about Arteta’s transfer business and attacking tactics.
