Iconic former Arsenal winger Perry Groves has had his say on who will win the Premier League title this season.
Arsenal are currently top of the Premier League table, having beaten Brentford on Saturday evening. However, the Gunners have very little breathing room at the top, as whilst they have racked up 30 points, Manchester City and Liverpool has amassed 29 and 28 points, respectively.
It has to be expected that this race is going to go to the wire, as all three clubs will believe that they have what it takes to come out on top at the end of the campaign.
Recent history, of course, favours the reigning champions, Manchester City. However, Liverpool demonstrated with their 2019/20 title triumph that they are capable of overhauling Pep Guardiola’s side.
Last season, Arsenal emerged as title contenders and led the league for the majority of the campaign. However, they slipped up in the final stretch, and were overtaken by Manchester City. Mikel Arteta will be determined to ensure that his side go one step better and last the course this time around.
Gary Neville believes that Arsenal will be triumphant this season. The former Manchester United defender believes that the manner in which the north London club have been able to grind out wins in recent weeks, despite not being at their fluent best as an attacking force, suggests that they will be able to grow into the season and hit top form at the perfect time.

Arsenal must focus on their own job
Perry Groves has now backed his former club, too. Speaking on talkSPORT’s Premier League All Access podcast, the former winger, who won two league titles in his playing days with the club, shared his bold prediction for how the rest of the season will pan out.
Groves said, “I think they’ve [Man City] lost that invincibility and I actually think that Arsenal will win the title, and it will be Liverpool second and Man City third.”
To this, the podcast’s host, Sam Matterface, responded with, “that is a huge call.”
Many would still have Manchester City as their favourites, understandably. Though, they are certainly beatable, having already lost twice in the Premier League this season, and been held to a draw on two other occasions.
One of their defeats, of course, came at the hands of Arsenal, who ended their long run of losses at the hands of the Manchester club. Last time out, Liverpool held the treble winners to a 1-1 draw.
Arsenal’s full focus needs to be on their own task, though, and not on what may be happening elsewhere. If Arteta’s side keep on winning, they stand a great chance of lifting their first title since 2004.
