The Italian director is believed to have played a key role in convincing the 24-year-old to commit his future to the Emirates Stadium.

Andrea Berta plays a key role in Bukayo Saka’s new Arsenal contract

Andrea Berta played a vital role in ensuring Bukayo Saka signed a new five-year contract with Arsenal, according to TeamTalk.

Sources at the Emirates claim that Berta has taken the club to a different level off the pitch, given his ability to negotiate new signings and contracts.

Following a busy summer window in which the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, and Piero Hincapie were signed, he has since shifted his focus to new contracts.

With just Declan Rice now remaining, the majority of the Gunners’ core group of players are committed to long-term deals in North London.

Arsenal are also making the strong claim that their ability to get Saliba and Saka to sign new deals shows they are now firmly one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

At the time, Edu Gaspar’s departure from Arsenal was a bit of a concern; however, his replacement has come in and shown him up.

Mikel Arteta confirmed that Saka is loving his new midfield role at Arsenal and the Spaniard is planning to use him there more often.

Speaking to HaytersTV, Arteta said: “I think he does, and everything that brings a challenge to him and he needs to prove something. I think it ticks something on him, and I think it’s something positive.”

Saka impressed in the number ten role against Wigan, and it will be interesting to see whether Arteta uses him there against Wolves.
