Arsenal are reportedly keen to step up their pursuit of Pedro Neto.
According to Football Transfers, Arsenal want to sign Pedro Neto in the upcoming January transfer window. However, Wolves have slapped a £70 million price tag on the winger, whilst the Gunners value him at £40 million.
In any case, unless significant sales are made, Arsenal won’t have a huge amount of cash to splash this winter. The north London club spent heavily in the summer, including shelling out a club-record fee of £105 million for Declan Rice.
That being said, Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of Neto. It is easy to see why. The 23-year-old has flair, electric pace, and the technical ability required to thrive as part of this Arsenal team.
The Gunners are also considering a swoop for Brentford striker Ivan Toney, as reported by The Mirror. However, as per the aforementioned Football Transfers bulletin, Arteta would prioritise a move for Neto over securing the services of the Bees’ target man.

Neto needed to solve major Arsenal issue
With the weight of the burden currently on Bukayo Saka, who plays virtually every minute of every match, the need for reinforcements in that area of the pitch is pressing. Neto is an ideal candidate to fill this void in the squad.
The five-cap Portugal international is a left-footed right winger whose style of play is comparable to Saka’s. Whether he would be willing to come to the Emirates Stadium in the capacity of a back up player, though, remains to be seen. At this stage in his career, the £50,000-a-week ace may wish to make a move to a club where he is more likely to be a regular starter.
If Neto is open to a move, though, then he would be a brilliant, exciting addition to the Arsenal squad. If a fair compromise over the fee can be reached with Wolves, then he would be a smart signing.
