Jurrien Timber will return to Emirates Stadium as Arsenal take on Manchester United in the Premier League as the Dutch defender steps up his recovery from an ACL injury.
That is according to football.london, which reports Timber will make his first appearance at Emirates Stadium since suffering his injury on Sunday. Arsenal have also landed a boost as the 22-year-old has now begun the recovery process of his rehabilitation after knee surgery.
Timber stayed away from Emirates Stadium as Arsenal drew 2-2 with Fulham last Saturday in the Premier League. Manager Mikel Arteta has been unable to play his summer signing from AFC Ajax since the opening day after sustaining a serious problem early into the second half.

Why Pele Is Overrated.
Jurrien Timber makes progress in his return from an ACL injury
Arsenal’s medical team initially cleared Timber to continue playing after receiving treatment in the first period against Nottingham Forest. But the defender tweaked his knee early on in the second half and would not continue. He then underwent surgery that may ruin his term.
The operation may keep Timber out for most of the season but Arsenal have landed a boost with the defender now starting the recovery stage. He only went under the knife two weeks ago. Yet he intends to be at Emirates Stadium as Arsenal host Manchester United on Sunday.

Jurrien Timber’s presence will be a boost against Manchester United
Arteta relished what Timber brought to Arsenal throughout pre-season and in their win over Manchester City in the Community Shield. He fully utilised the Dutchman’s versatility to play as a right-back and a left-back. Even though Timber is most familiar to being a centre-half.
But the ACL injury Timber sustained against Nottingham Forest removed a likely key piece of Arteta’s plans. So, seeing the 15-cap Dutchman begin the recovery stage of his rehabilitation and attend Sunday’s game with Manchester United will boost the mood in the Arsenal team.

The Gunners squad clearly felt for Timber following his injury and showed their support with a tribute at Crystal Palace. Captain Martin Odegaard held aloft an Arsenal shirt with Timber’s name for the team photo. So, they will surely love him being at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
