Cole has now been confirmed as the manager of Cesena until the end of the season as he looks to gain valuable managerial experience abroad for his first role.

Cole joins Cesena with them being 8th in Serie B and while he’s unlikely to have enough time to make a huge impact, he will be relishing the chance to cut his cloth as the main man.

Furthermore, Cole will also be looking at the career Cesc Fabregas has enjoyed over in Italy so far.

Fabregas has enjoyed a meteoric rise as manager of Como and has them on the verge of the Champions League after initially helping them out of Serie B.

Cole and Fabregas join a growing list of former Arsenal players who have taken steps into management in some way.

Jack Wilshere is the current manager of Luton Town, while Robin van Persie is in charge at Feyenoord.

Patrick Vieira has had a number of managerial roles, while former defender Kolo Toure has also taken steps into coaching.
