Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares was reportedly kicked out of Marseille training by Igor Tudor, adding even more controversy to the fullback’s loan spell in France.

According to L’Equipe, the Croatian manager was singled out in training by the Marseille boss after failing to show ‘necessary efforts’. Yet despite this, Tavares did start the French club’s Ligue 1 fixture this weekend in a 1-1 draw against Montpellier.

Tavares’ time in Marseille has been explosive, to say the least, with the fullback seeing red in the reverse fixture against Montpellier earlier in the season as well as accidentally signing a petition to get one of his new teammates banned from playing for the club.

Despite this, the defender has actually put up some strong numbers for Marseille, with Tavares scoring an incredible six goals for the French giants and making the left-wingback spot his own, even if there have been some displays to forget for the Portuguese youth star.

Indeed, Arsenal will likely look to move on Tavares for good this summer, and whilst there’s a good chance that the Gunners will make a profit on the youngster, there’s no denying that attitude problems could be an issue for interested clubs looking to sign the defender.

Tavares is arguably one of a handful of players Arteta could look to sell for profit this summer, yet this latest Marseille training episode could play a role in Arsenal struggling to find a suitor for the defender, even if he has impressed in some aspects this season.

The Portuguese fullback has all the talent in the world to become a top prospect in his position. However, issues off the pitch could stop this and Arsenal from getting the most that they possible can, and this latest incident might reflect that in the market.
