Agents play a massive part in football transfers in 2026.
Having a cordial, respectful and open relationship with an agent or an agency can make or break a deal.
Indeed, there are certain clubs that operate time and time again with the same agencies – Wolves and Jorge Mendes, Tottenham and CAA Base, and, previously, Everton with Kia Joorabchian.
You can often get a glimpse of who your club will target next by looking at which agents they’ve worked with before, and there is an interesting link between Arsenal and one of their current transfer targets.

Christos Tzolis shares an agency with Mikel Arteta
Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move for Christos Tzolis this summer.
The winger could join Arsenal this summer, but there have been other clubs linked with a move after a record-breaking season over in Belgium.
However, Arsenal could have an edge in this race through the player’s agency.
Tzolis is represented by an agency known as THE TEAM, and when you look at their list of clients, there are a few interesting names.
Tino Livramento is represented by the same agency, and he is also an Arsenal target.
However, more pertinently, Mikel Arteta is also represented by the same group, and that could be a key part in making this deal happen.
Arteta sharing an agent with Tzolis could be a difference-maker in this deal, it will make things easier when everyone gets around the negotiating table, and it will ensure all sides are pulling in the same direction.
Of course, Club Brugge will have their say and Arsenal their own, but if Arteta, Tzolis and their agents all get in a room together, it shouldn’t be too difficult to thrash out a deal.
