Arsenal have today confirmed the squad that will be travelling to America to take part in a number of pre-season friendlies.

Arsenal fly out to the United States today, where they will take on three Premier League rivals in pre-season friendly matches.

First, Mikel Arteta’s makeshift side will face Bournemouth and Manchester United in Los Angeles, before moving on to Philadelphia for a showdown against Liverpool.

These fixtures are vital fitness building exercises, and Arsenal fans can expect Arteta to experiment tactically somewhat across these games.

However, the Spanish coach will be without a number of his key players in the US. Several Arsenal stars are enjoying an extended holiday, having taken part in the Copa America or Euro 2024 this summer.

As such, the squad that has been assembled for the US tour features a lot of youth players from the Hale End academy system.

Arsenal included Ethan Nwaneri, new signings, and Euro 2024 strugglers in US tour squad

Arsenal confirmed their 26-man US tour squad on their official website today. There are still plenty of high profile figures in the group, who were not on international duty this summer, including club captain Martin Odegaard, Jurrien Timber, Ben White, Thomas Partey, Fabio Vieira, Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, and Gabriel Jesus.

They are joined by Jorginho, Leandro Trossard, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Jakub Kiwior, who did all feature at Euro 2024, but as their nations were eliminated from the competition relatively early on they are already back to work in North London.

This group of first team stars will be supported Stateside by a cast of less known figures, including two entirely new faces in the form of young goalkeeping duo Lucas Nygaard and Tommy Setford. Nygaard joined the Hale End academy this summer, whilst Setford’s signing from Ajax was only officially announced today.

Plenty more Hale End gems are making the trip. Perhaps most notable of all is Ethan Nwaneri, who already has two first team appearances to his name. A plan exists to bring Nwaneri further into the Arsenal first team fold, and that may be in evidence in America.

He is joined by nine fellow academy starlets: Alexei Rojas, Josh Nichols, Ayden Heaven, Omar Rekik, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Michael Rosiak, Salah–Eddine Oulad M’Hand, Jimi Gower, and Charles Sagoe Jr.

Takehiro Tomiyasu left out of Arsenal tour due to injury

One player set to miss out on this pre-season venture is Takehiro Tomiyasu.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X, the Japanese defender is being left in London to recover from a knee injury. Kieran Tierney is also remaining at the Emirates Stadium to continue his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury picked up at Euro 2024.
