Arsenal have now been blasted for the cost of food items that fans have to stump up for at the Emirates Stadium.
Going to watch Arsenal, or any Premier League club, is an expensive business for fans.
However, it seems that this outlay has been pushed to new heights now at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta has always stressed the importance of the club forging and maintaining a positive connection with the fans. However, many supporters will feel taken advantage of by the prices put on food and refreshments at the stadium.
talkSPORT pundits Andy Townsend and Ally McCoist were appalled to learn that a steak sandwich, chips, and a drink will set back Arsenal fans by £27. McCoist said, “I just cannot believe this,” as he revealed the price of the meal live on air.
Former Republic of Ireland international Townsend called the pricing “ridiculous,” before the ex-Rangers striker branded the whole affair to be “obscene.”

Arsenal must make changes at the Emirates Stadium to support their own supporters
This move from Arsenal shows disrespect towards the fans, many of whom will be feeling the brutal effects of the cost of living crisis which is currently enveloping the entire country. Parents should be able to take their children to the Emirates Stadium to watch a match, and feed them there, without it costing them more than the price of a mini break to Barcelona.
Coughing up such an amount for the meal deal will have been even harder to stomach in recent weeks, when supporters of the club have watched Arteta’s side lose matches at home against West Ham United and Liverpool.
Arteta recently called on fans to make the Emirates Stadium a more “hostile” environment for opposition teams to have to come and play in, as quoted by The Guardian. Before worrying too much about that, though, the club need to seriously work on making their home stadium a more welcoming and affordable place for their own supporters to visit.
