Arsenal are now majorly concerned that Thomas Partey might not play again this year owing to the latest injury problem the midfielder sustained during training in October.
That is according to the Mirror, which reports that Partey may remain sidelined because of a muscle injury until 2024. His absence also leaves manager Mikel Arteta increasingly short on midfield options with Emile Smith Rowe likely out for one month due to his own knee injury.
Smith Rowe sustained his issue against Sheffield United to add to Arteta’s injury problems at Arsenal. The Gunners have been without Partey since visiting Sevilla, who travel to Emirates Stadium this Wednesday, after he developed a thigh injury in training the day before the tie.

Arsenal fear Partey’s injury may sideline him until 2024
Arsenal beat Sevilla 2-1 in the Champions League following Partey’s injury as Arteta opted to start Jorginho in their core. The Italian has since enjoyed a regular run in the Spaniard’s side, even captaining the Gunners in their losses against West Ham United and Newcastle United.
Partey had also enjoyed a regular run in Arteta’s Arsenal team before injury problems struck the Ghanaian again this season. He started the term as a makeshift right-back but suffered a mix of a groin and thigh issue against Fulham that sidelined the 30-year-old for six matches.
Fitness problems have plagued Partey in north London

Partey returned from his first injury of the 2023/24 term as a late substitute as Arsenal beat Manchester City 1-0. But Arteta opted against introducing the 45-cap anchor from his bench against Chelsea following the October international break, days before the injury then arose.
Now, Arsenal fear Partey may not play again this year owing to his newest injury problem. It also adds yet another frustrating string to his injury bow having missed several fixtures each term he has spent at Emirates Stadium. He left Atletico Madrid for £45.5m in October 2020.
The injury that Partey sustained in October may also be the last nail in his career at Arsenal. 90min noted shortly after the blow that Partey may seek a transfer in January as the anchor Yaya Toure calls ‘unbelievable’ has become frustrated with his limited minutes under Arteta.
