Arsenal have had constant injury issues within the squad all season, and despite welcoming some players back in recent weeks, they may have been handed a fresh blow.
Gabriel Martinelli and Thomas Partey both returned from injury, coming off the bench to play vital roles in the win over Manchester City, but there are now concerns over Partey, with the midfielder featuring for Ghana in the International break.
Jurrien Timber has been injured since the opening game of the season, with Martinelli and Partey also missing a number of games, whilst Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and Leandro Trossard have all struggled with knocks.
Arsenal have fresh Partey concern
Football.London have now reported that there are concerns within Arsenal about Partey. The 30-year-old was withdrawn at half-time in Ghana’s 2-0 defeat to Mexico, with it currently unclear whether this was a forced or a tactical change.
Arsenal sent club physiotherapist Simon Murphy with Partey on International duty, but there are now reported growing fears within the club over his fitness, particularly given his regular injury problems over the years.
Partey has struggled with injuries since his arrival in 2020, and he has missed most of the campaign so far, having picked up an injury in training in August.
Partey’s importance

Despite the arrival of Declan Rice this summer, Partey is still a crucial figure in the Arsenal side. He was described as “unbelievable” by Yaya Toure last season, and his cameo appearance against Man City showed his qualities.
If he is fit, he could play at the base of midfield, with Rice pushing further forward, and this would be a near-perfect balance of technique and strength in the middle of the park.
Arsenal will hope that Partey’s withdrawal was simply precautionary, but until more news is confirmed, there will be internal worries over his fitness.
