Arsenal are now said to be pushing to sign Barcelona’s 20-year-old winger Ansu Fati as they look to improve their options on the wing.

That’s according to Football Transfers who recently shared the exclusive.

The report says that Fati, once seen as the heir to Lionel Messi, is now surplus to requirements at Barcelona.

Why Pele Is Overrated.

Fati is said to have an asking price of £50m for clubs wanting to complete a permanent transfer.

Tottenham Hotspur have been said to be monitoring Fati’s situation in recent weeks whilst they consider a move.

It would be an intriguing move for Arsenal fans were reports proved to be true.

‘World-beater’ Ansu Fati would have been an unrealistic target for any club in the world just a few years ago.

Fati was thought to be on his way to becoming one of the world’s best.

However, injuries have been pretty cruel in his career thus far and look to have halted his progress.

Perhaps if links are true then Mikel Arteta could believe that he can still elevate Fati to those lofty levels.

Arsenal said to be pushing for Barcelona’s Fati

It could be argued that Arsenal’s squad is still short of an elite-level winger.

Whilst Leandro Trossard is more than capable back up to Gabriel Martinelli on the left, Bukayo Saka doesn’t have such competition.

Although Arsenal have put a show of faith in Reiss Nelson with a new contract, Barcelona’s Ansu Fati would surely be a big upgrade.

Fati could be the player to push Saka across the season, and a squad role may also suit the 20-year-old’s return to full fitness.

It would seem pretty absurd to write off Ansu Fati’s potential at this stage of his career even if Barcelona are willing to let him go.

Fati received Lionel Messi comparisons for a good reason.

And if reports do prove true and Arsenal make a move for the Barcelona man then it will no doubt be very exciting for fans.
