Arsenal have put a price tag on Nuno Tavares.
Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Nottingham Forest are working on a deal to sign Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares. Nottingham Forest are currently in negotiations with the Gunners over a permanent transfer for the 23-year-old, having already made an initial proposal.
Reporter Charles Watts, speaking on his YouTube channel, has stated that Arsenal are demanding a fee of around £12 million for Tavares.
Tavares is certainly a player that Arsenal would be happy to see depart the Emirates Stadium this summer. Despite the recent injury to Jurrien Timber, Oleksandr Zinchenko’s ongoing fitness issues, and the question mark around Kieran Tierney’s future in north London, there is still no sense that Tavares could force his way into contention for game time.
The Portuguese full-back spent last season on loan with Marseille. His form was mixed in Ligue 1. He was able to chip in with 6 goals, but defensive lapses remain a part of his game.

Edu has one job when it comes to Tavares
Arsenal paid around £8 million to sign Tavares from Benfica in the summer of 2021.

The player amassed 28 appearances in his first season with the club. He was able to show flashes of quality in that time, but his campaign was marred by a handful of extremely poor performances, including one against Nottingham Forest which saw him substituted by Mikel Arteta in the first half. The Arsenal boss was later said to have been ‘annoyed’ by the player.
With Arteta having lost faith in Tavares there is no future for him at Arsenal. Technical director Edu’s priority now is to fetch the biggest fee for the player that he can. Securing £12 million from Nottingham Forest would represent good business and secure a decent profit for the Gunners for a player they are keen to get off the books.
