Arsenal are reportedly set to welcome back Thomas Partey to the starting XI this Wednesday against Everton, with the midfielder now fully recovered from his latest injury.

According to Football London, the north London side are set to bring the former Atletico Madrid superstar into the fold having made his return to action over the weekend against Leicester City, with Jorginho expected to drop to the bench despite the Italian’s impressive form.

Having won their last two games, Arsenal can confirm their return to form this week with a payback win against Everton at the Emirates Stadium, with the Toffees’ beating the north London side at Goodison Park at the start of the month.

With Partey missing key clashes against Manchester City and Aston Villa, the midfielder’s short-term injury was a huge blow for Mikel Arteta’s side, though Jorginho has impressed in recent matches for Arsenal as the former Chelsea star begins to get to grips with his new club.

Indeed, whilst the Italian international has flourished as Partey’s deputy, many Arsenal fans would agree that the Ghanaian international is too perfect in the role to keep on the bench for Everton, especially with the £50m man now fully fit and over his latest injury.

Jorginho’s performances for Arsenal against Villa and Leicester were impressive, to say the least, with the midfielder complimenting Martin Odegaard well and using his range of passing to offer a lot of support for the likes of Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka.

However, with Partey now over his injury, Arteta is well within his right to drop the Italian in favour of the Arsenal no. 5, who could be ideal against Everton with an Emirates Stadium crowd fully backing the squad to make it three wins out of three in the Premier League.
