Arsenal reaching the Champions League final is one of the biggest moments in the club’s modern history.

The Gunners have only reached Europe’s biggest game once before, and this is their first appearance in the final for 20 years.

For supporters and staff alike, this Champions League final is the sort of occasion many people may only experience once in their lifetime.

That is why there is now huge frustration behind the scenes at Arsenal after employees discovered how much it would cost them to travel to Budapest for the final against PSG.

Arsenal staff have been left angry and disappointed over Champions League final travel costs

There is significant frustration among Arsenal employees over the club’s handling of travel arrangements for the Champions League final.

According to the Telegraph, staff members who are not working at the game have been offered one non-transferable match ticket for the final.

However, the issue is the cost attached to actually getting to Budapest.

Arsenal have organised chartered flight packages through a third-party operator, with employees being asked to pay £859 for travel.

For many staff members, that figure is simply too expensive, especially for people who already work tirelessly behind the scenes for the club every single day.

The frustration has only grown because PSG have taken a completely different approach with their own employees.

While Arsenal staff are being charged significant sums, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has offered employees both free travel and complimentary tickets for the final.

That contrast has understandably caused disappointment and anger internally at Arsenal.

Stan Kroenke needs to learn from PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi

The way PSG have handled this situation feels far more respectful towards the people working behind the scenes at the club.

Al-Khelaifi reportedly made it clear that he wanted every employee to feel part of the journey and experience the occasion together.

That is exactly how football clubs should treat the staff who help keep everything running on a daily basis.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have posted record revenues in recent years and are believed to have earned over £120 million from this Champions League campaign alone.

Against that backdrop, asking employees to pay £859 to attend arguably the biggest match of their lives feels extremely harsh.

Stan Kroenke and Arsenal’s hierarchy should have followed PSG’s example instead because this situation has created completely unnecessary negativity ahead of the biggest game the club has played in two decades.
