Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has just sent a message to England fans ahead of Sunday’s Euro 2024 final against Spain.
England booked their place in the final of Euro 2021 with a 2-1 win over the Netherlands in Dortmund on Wednesday evening.
Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice started for the Three Lions in this match. Saka thought that he had won the game in the 80th minute, when he steered the ball into the back of the net from close range.
However, his effort was quickly chalked off as Kyle Walker was guilty of straying offside during the build up. Ultimately, it took a last gasp goal from Ollie Watkins to secure the Three Lions’ progress.
Whilst Saka impressed fans with his performance, Rice was far from his best in the middle of the park. The 25-year-old was guilty of losing the ball just before the Netherlands’ goal, and was generally far too ponderous and conservative in possession. Rice will need to change his game against Spain if England are to stand a chance of winning the tournament.
In any case, whilst many will consider England underdogs for the final, based on the form that Spain have produced throughout the competition so far, everyone involved with Southgate’s squad will believe that they have what it takes to get over the line.
There is a sense that destiny may be on England’s side this time around, as moments of magic to produce late winners and penalty shootout victories have been a theme for the national team throughout the European Championships.
Looking ahead to the final, Saka has now sent a message to supporters.

Taking to Instagram in the wake of England’s triumph over the Dutch, Saka posted a number of photographs from the match, along with an eleven-word message for supporters: “This team! Book your flights people…we’re in the final !!”
In Germany, on home turf, and all around the world, England fans will be backing Southgate’s side to end the nation’s 58-year wait for the mens team to win a major international tournament.
What next for Saka after Euro 2024?
As with all players who have taken part in an international tournament this summer, Saka will be afforded a holiday period before reporting to North London for pre-season.
Mikel Arteta is already working on a plan for reintegrating Saka into the Arsenal squad upon his delayed return.
